HISTORY OF THE KOCH'S COMPANY

KOCH'S headquarters are located in Baiersdorf, in the heart of Franconian horseradish country. The first horseradish cultures were planted here by Margrave Johann the Alchemist as early as 1430.

FOUNDATION
In this year Georg Koch founds his
agricultural warehouse.
WHOLESALE
Karl Koch takes over the warehouse from Georg Koch.
First potato wholesaler on site, as well as
Wholesale of horseradish, fruit and vegetables.


POST-WAR PERIOD
Karl Koch, a pioneer in post-war Germany, recognizes the signs of the times and begins processing horseradish in order to meet the growing demand for horseradish products. At the same time, the trade in raw horseradish becomes increasingly important.
NEW PRODUCTS & MARKETS
After Karl Koch's death, his wife Lisa does not hesitate for a second to continue the now rapidly expanding business in the family tradition. Together with her son Hans-Karl, she founds Karl Koch KG Meerrettichkonservenfabrik. Newly developed products conquer the market, also in other European countries.


MODERNIZATION
In this year, the first decisive step for the next millennium is taken with the founding of KOCH'S Meerrettich GmbH. Expansion and modernization of the company become necessary in order to expand and improve the production of horseradish and delicatessen products.
NEW PRODUCTS & MARKETS
The subsidiary KOCH'S Torma (Hungaria) Kft. is founded in Hungary. This step opens up new sales markets in the east, expands the supply of raw materials in a
climatically ideal country and enables the
development of further delicatessen products.


EXPANSION OF EXPERTISE & FUTURE INVESTMENTS
With the founding of KOCH'S Meerrettich & Feinkost GmbH, the traditional company is set up for the future. Continuous investment in further expansion and modernization ensures that KOCH'S will continue to have extensive horseradish expertise from the field to the jar for the next 100 years, as well as high-quality and exciting products for the future.
